Horse Power Out. Food Over Time In.

Horse Power. An archaic measurement of power based on a bit more than a draft horse can sustain. Normally defined as 735.499 Watts, but in the case of a boiler horse power -- it's 13.4 times that. But how much power is that really? Well, the truth is no one knows. This is why I'm introducing a new system: Food over Time (or FOT).

FOT is quite simple. You get the energy content of a certain food, put it over a time period. And you have a robust and comprehensible unit. For instance:

The Suzuki FZ6 can produce a maximum of ~1,700 big macs a minute of power.

A trained athlete can briefly output the power of ~76 Subway six-inch Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki.

Trivia:
The Hiroshima bomb (Little Boy) had the energy of ~9,727,000 cheese cakes.  (Which makes me wonder why so many are starving in Japan)

Heated Vacuum Flask Concept

I call this the Man-Tube. It's a large, heated vacuum flask.

The top
  • Screw off top (nothing dodgy like a pop-off)
  • The spout gets opened by a button on the side
  • Easy one hand operation
  • Heavily concaved lid (AKA a facehole), to increase the amount of tilt before the cup hits your nose.

The flask
  • Big. Real big. At least a litre (34 ounces)
  • Wide enough to stick you hand in (to clean)
  • Made of double vacuum glass. I want to see my drink.
  • Tough. It should be able to stop a god damn bullet or be dropped from my desk.
  • Internal heater. The inner glass must be getting heated, not the outside layer.
  • Hole to get power from the base unit.
  • Standalone. Does not require the base for use.
Base Unit
  • Functions as the power source/adapter for the internal flask heater
  • Has multiple inputs: USB, car-charger-thing, mains and perhaps even some batteries.

Motorcycle ramp idea

I present to you the best adrenaline ride in the world. It lets you experience doing an insane motorcycle-ramp-jump and soaring in the air .. except you don't need to have any skill to land. There is a giant overhead cable system for you and the bike which move with you and lock before you hit the water (Water just in case it screws up badly).
